FAQ
How much horse care will I do per week?
You are responsible for cleaning just your own stall every day, as well as doing 3-4 feeding and turnout shifts per week depending on the number of boarders. Thanks to our efficiently laid out facility and automatic waterers, each feeding and turnout shift only takes about 30 minutes.
What happens if I need to travel or I get sick?
We got you! The co-op model was designed to allow for travel, illness and other absences. When you’re out, the other boarders will cover your stall and shifts.
Is this a kid-friendly barn?
Although kids are welcome to visit, due to the amount of work required in the co-op model and the lack of an in-house trainer, Windsor Stables is not a good match for boarders under the age of 16.
Do you welcome all disciplines?
Yes! Windsor Stables boarders ride and compete in English, Western, endurance and everything in between, and all disciplines are welcome. However, please keep in mind that our arena footing was designed for Dressage/Eventing and will not provide a great experience for disciplines requiring a looser footing such as Western speed events.
Do you have an on-site trainer?
While we don’t have an on-site trainer, Windsor Stables boarders take weekly remote video lessons with a variety of trainers, in addition to occasionally bringing in outside clinicians and hauling out to trainers.
Do you allow haul-ins?
Depending on boarder arena utilization, we occasionally allow haul-ins that wish to use the arena facilities. Haul-ins must pay a fee and their horses must be current on shots and have a negative Coggins on file. Please contact us to inquire about haul-in availability.
